A softly structured two-piece suit cut from a sumi-ink–dyed linen with a gentle,
irregular depth of tone. The jacket features a relaxed silhouette with a subtle drape,
shaped through clean front panels, a lightly suppressed waist, and set-in sleeves
that offer an easy, natural line through the shoulders. Paneling and seam placement guide
the movement of the cloth, allowing the inked linen to shift from matte to luminous
with changes in light. The trousers follow the same language, cut with a straight,
balanced leg and a smooth rise, letting the fabric’s surface determine
both proportion and flow.
The sumi-ink linen is dyed by hand, producing tonal variation that reads as
soft shadowing across the garment. Each change in shade interacts with the structure
of the pattern, revealing how the cloth settles, folds, and holds weight.
Through this process, the suit moves beyond a traditional category—becoming an
exploration of how material character can shape tailoring from the ground up.
